Position Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Head of Finance (Senior Director) to join our client's leadership team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy and ensuring the financial health of the organization as they pursue groundbreaking oncology therapies. The Head of Finance will oversee all financial aspects of the company, providing strategic direction, financial leadership, and expertise to support the mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy: Develop and execute the company's financial strategy in alignment with the mission and objectives. Provide insights and recommendations to drive financial growth and sustainability.
Financial Planning and Analysis: Lead the development of financial models, forecasts, and budgets. Monitor financial performance against targets, analyze variances, and provide actionable recommendations.
Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and financial KPIs for internal and external stakeholders.
Investor Relations: Collaborate with executive leadership to communicate the financial performance and strategic vision to investors, partners, and the board of directors.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial and accounting regulations, including GAAP, SEC, and other relevant industry standards. Manage audits and external financial reporting requirements.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks while optimizing opportunities for growth. Establish and maintain robust internal controls.
Capital Management: Oversee capital allocation, fundraising, and investment strategies. Evaluate financing options and partnerships to support the company's objectives, including the upcoming Series B funding round.
Series B Funding: Provide expertise and experience in supporting the planning and execution of the Series B funding round.
Team Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Strategic Decision Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and guidance on strategic initiatives, including R&D projects, licensing agreements, and business development opportunities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
CPA or CFA certification is a plus.
Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible financial leadership experience in the biopharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
Strong understanding of biopharmaceutical financial modeling, drug development, and regulatory processes.
Exceptional analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to communicate financial information effectively to diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills.
Experience in planning and executing Series B funding rounds.
Knowledge of AI-driven technologies and computational drug design is advantageous.
