The primary function of this position involves providing strategic oversight and direction to all Immunobiology research programs. The role is pivotal in designing and implementing scientific strategies across the company's diverse research pipeline, which targets inflammation, autoimmunity, and immuno-oncology.


Additionally, the role involves contributing to regulatory filings, protecting intellectual property through patentable data generation and ideation, and enhancing the company's external scientific reputation through publications and presentations at scientific meetings. This position demands close collaboration with various functional partners to ensure an integrated, strategic approach to execution.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading discovery strategy and execution in inflammation, autoimmunity, and immune-oncology, managing a team of skilled scientists.

  • Fostering strategic and scientific synergies across the immunology pipeline, influencing strategy and execution at all stages.

  • Maintaining expertise in emerging immunology research, fostering external collaborations for discovery and development programs.

  • Participating in evaluating new targets across therapy lines, proposing new targets, and mentoring scientists in target proposals.

  • Championing novel technology platforms to reinforce the company's innovative leadership position.

  • Setting strategy for immunology research areas, prioritizing resource allocation in line with corporate goals.

  • Providing scientific leadership, including collaboration with key external experts.

Qualifications include a PhD (or equivalent) in biological sciences, over 15 years of experience in an academic or industry setting, a strong publication record, proven success in drug development programs, and experience in managing and mentoring scientific teams. The role also requires experience in prioritizing portfolio demands and managing budgets and resources.
